So what exactly does it mean?

In a nutshell, public relations promotes a favourable relationship between you, your company and the public. It does this to:

How does it differ from Marketing?

Public Relations is often described as the fifth ‘P’ in the marketing mix (the other four being Product, Price, Place & Promotion).
